호떡(Hodduk)

Weather is pretty cool these days, and I think Winter is going to be over. During this Winter, I posted about 붕어빵, and 계란빵. Those are two of major Winter foods in Korea. Then you may wonder: what's the rest? What are them? D:

Before it ends, I want to let you know another Korea food in Winter season. :)

Its name is 호떡(Hodduk), probably kind of Korean pancake, and it fills with brown sugar.

Let me tell you more..!

* BE CAREFUL IF YOU ARE HUGRY NOW *

Unfortunately I couldn't take pictures of process of making, despite of my attempts. :(

The dough filled with brown sugar get fried.

Ta-da! It's original 호떡. Its original form is round shape.

I'm going to take a bite. :P

Hmm, actually it has been a pretty long time since I ate 호떡, but..
It's really sweet and delicious...!! @_@

You can see the brown sugar and nuts.

I'm going to post other kinds of 호떡.

This is my favorite 호떡.It's called "중국호떡(Chinese Hodduk)" or  "버블호떡(Bubble Hodduk".
I don't know why, but because it's not fried and just raised. It's not as sweet as original Hodduk is, but it has clean and homely taste.

Last one is 씨앗호떡(Seed Hodduk). It's from Busan (one of cities in Korea)

It's frying..!!

Since it's quite popular, many people wait in line for this 호떡. When you have any opportunities to visit Busan, I think it would be nice to try this one.

There are many nuts and seeds in this 호떡. It's pretty distinctive flavor!

You can find 씨앗호떡 in Seoul as well, but since I haven't bought it in Seoul, I'm not sure about the taste.

As I told you at the beginning of this posting, Winter is going to end and the time to eat 호떡 is finishing. But it's been loved by many people for a long time. For you, it can be one of reason you can wait for Winter. :) If you are in Korea, it's not late to try, and if you aren't in Korea, you should try it when you are here in Winter.

It's rather sad that winter is almost gone and I need to wait for this winter food for about a year. But on the other hand, it means the time I can eat Summer season foods is coming! *yay*
